Servers

I got all the web stuff migrated over to the non-crappy server .. I don’t think I broke anything, but let me know if you notice something funny. The “Larry is somewhere” thing on the right isn’t working yet — still need to copy over all the MySQL databases (yes, that little line is run with MySQL … not by design, just kind of evolved that way, out of a bigger project .. maybe it’s time to redo it).

Server ..

Note to self: get everything off this old Cyrix 166 server and onto the slightly newer/faster K6-2 450 machine. Poor spoon (now about 6 years old) nearly killed itself trying to load a photo gallery this evening. sshd died off, then the emergency telnetd too, and eventually apache was returning only 500′s :-( Already switched the mail over to nougat (the k6-2) … must migrate web server soon also.

Chris has started hacking out a HREF="http://ck1.is-a-geek.org/map/index.pl">map-based picture browser ..
very nifty. Who knew there were perl modules out there that will put dots on a
map for you? :)
